More Apps – Less MS

The HIMSS site describes the¬†Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) as “a professional certification program for healthcare information and management systems professionals“.¬† I have taken this exam and passed, and received my certificate (and pin) in 2012.

If you’re considering taking this 2 hour exam you’ll find out fast there isn’t much help to prepare you. I wasted lots of money buying flashcards that were worthless and publications that also were worthless. Just try and find any mobile app!

With this app you won’t have to waste money like I did and you now have a mobile solution to help you grasp the concepts you will need to pass your exam.

I bought the book a year ago to study and take the test, but never got around to it. But, read most of the book. I want to take the test now, and can’t find the book, and don’t want to pay over $ 100 for it again. IT wasn’t worth it the 1st time.

If I study the questions in this app will the material be sufficent to pass the test? I work in health care IT so I have a working knowledge. But, I’m sure there are areas where I could use some brushing up.

    Thanks – Jamie

    Hello Jamie,

Your question can not be answered with a simple yes/no since taking any exam is dependent on so many things, even what a person eats prior to an exam.

I have had very positive feedback on how the questions have helped people pass the exam. As with anything experience helps as well as study.

Beware of the quick promises various vendors try and sell. I made the mistake of buying some of their worthless trash before I simple started to assemble my own questions which I used myself to pass and get certified.

    Good luck!

I have a Samsung tablet. I don’t have either iphone or ipad. Can I play this app using my Samsung tablet?

    • admin says:

      Hello Yanwen.

If you can run Android apps from the Google play store then you should download “CPHIMS+” since that is the latest version for Android-based devices.

I just made the purchase via my Samsung tablet google play store. I am going to take the exam. Wish me good luck.

Good luck to you! Practice with the app and use the random question/answer setting for best results. If you find it has helped you (as many have) please help your fellow healthcare IT professionals and tell them about CPHIMS Test!.

Is there a way to submit additional questions to add to your database?

    • admin says:

Not by the user. You can always submit one to me and I will research your proposed question. If you do this you need to supply what you believe is the correct answer.

I noticed in the Apple App Store description that the app is optimized for iphone 5. Will the app work properly on an iphone 4s?

I have purchase the app and want to know if I know all your questions what every order they are in could I past the test. I have been in IT but none on the heath care side.

Since the target is Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems someone with healthcare IT exposure would have a distinctive advantage. No test prep, no seminar, no tutor, no one can promise anyone they will pass a test. At the most they will say if you fail you can retake their course without charge. The app will definitely strengthen the needed foundation.

Is there any place I can submit additional questions and answers?

    Hi David,
I have purchased this app for my Android device and have yet to receive it. When can I expect to receive the app? Please advise.

I purchased the app for my iPhone 5 but I am not able to download it. The download goes to about 60%, then goes back to 0%. What do I need to do to install this on my iPhone 5?

  10. David says:

I downloaded the app on my iPhone 5s and the app directly opens to the CPHIMS Test screen Unanswered, Wrong, Correct & Reset with a qs and choices. How do I get the 10 question test etc help/setup screen? I don’t see any button like that.

    • admin says:

The arrow points to the “100%” square button and to the right of that arrow says “Touch to test unanswered questions”. Touch the purple rectangle button that the arrow points to when you want to be tested on questions that you have not answered yet.

Touch the button under “Wrong” to retest answers you got wrong.

      Hope that helps.

Just curious how many questions you have in your Database now?

  12. Kall says:

On your YouTube video, it shows “Study Text” and “settings”. It looks like the format has changed from your YouTube video. If you are no longer providing the “Study Text”, is the another source that you recommend.

Some of your questions that I got completely wrong by guessing, I have not been exposed to this material and I need to research the answers to my wrong answers.

    Please advise.
